Let’s Talk About DAFs:
A Guide for Disruptive Fundraisers

There’s no denying it—donor-advised funds (DAFs) have become the monoliths of the philanthropic sector. The hundred billion-dollar financial vehicles are endemic of philanthropy’s long history of privilege and power, contributing to systems designed to uplift the few. As fundraisers, we have a responsibility to understand these tools and learn the ways that we can help bring about more equitable change to the sector.

This guide is a product of deep research and the review and feedback from our colleagues in the philanthropic sector. Targeting the “disruptive” fundraiser provides both context and action steps to address the inequities inherent in DAFs and DAF giving.
